Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days prior to planting outdoors.
Grow salad leaves in well prepared, fertile, moist soil in sun or semi shade. Space plants 23cm (9") apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects.
Water salad leaves regularly. Dry weather may cause plants to bolt so watering is particularly critical. Harvest baby salad leaves when required by picking a few leaves from each plant.
